Club Charter

PORTLAND TOASTMASTERS CLUB 31, the first Toastmasters Club in JimOregon, was chartered April 17, 1935.
Since then we have seen the Toastmasters Program grow throughout Oregon and Southern Washington State. There are now over 150 Toastmasters Clubs in the greater Portland area alone.

A RICH HISTORY - While Portland Toastmasters has a rich history, our outlook and approach is vigorous and forward looking. There are two reasons that people are not better public speakers. MembersFirst, like most people, they have a fear of public speaking. Second, they do not know how to make a proper presentation. Portland Toastmasters is here to help with a time honored system and supportive members. Whatever your interest, there is a place for you at Portland Toastmasters.

MEMBERS MATTER - Petr Maucy

As with any organization it is the members who make the club, and Portland Toastmasters has a membership that encompasses all races and beliefs. Young and old, men and women from all walks of life attend our meetings. Whoever you are or whatever you do, there is a place for you at Portland Toastmasters.

EVERYONE GETS A CHANCE TO SPEAK - Rose

Each week Portland Toastmasters has a segment called Table Topics. This is a chance to give a short off-the-cuff talk. Table Topics is open to everyone present, including guests who wish to speak. At Portland Toastmasters everyone gets a chance to speak. Whether you want to speak or just watch and learn, there is a place for you at Portland Toastmasters.

THE LEADERSHIP TRACK Ellen- One less well-known aspect of Toastmasters is its Leadership Track. This is a parallel program to the Communications Track that teaches members to manage groups of people and get things done. If you want to develop new leadership abilities there is a place for you at Portland Toastmasters.
